Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1/3 c
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- stick margarine - 1 item
- chocolate chips - 3/4 c
- caramels - 1 pkg
- German chocolate cake mix - 1 pkg
- whipped topping for frosting - 1 item
How to make snicker cake:
Prepare the cake mix according to package directions. Pour half the batter into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes. Melt the caramels with margarine and milk in saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently. Pour over the baked cake. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts. Spoon remaining cake batter over the caramel layer; bake at 250° for 20 minutes and increase the temperature to 350°. Bake for 10 minutes longer. Yields 16 to 20 servings.Note: Unwrap caramels ahead of time in order to be ready to spread on the cake. Frost with light covering of whipped topping.
