Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- brown sugar - 2 Tbsp
- shortening - 3 Tbsp
- lemon juice - 2 tsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 Tbsp
- prepared mustard - 2 tsp
- can tomato soup - 1 item
- onion, chopped and sauteed - 1/3 c
- celery, chopped and sauteed - 1/2 c
- round steak 1-inch thick or sirloin - 2 lb
How to make smothered steak:
Pound steak; add salt and pepper to flour. Lightly coat steak and brown both sides. Saute onion and celery. Add other ingredients and meat. Cover pan and bake 1 1/2 hours at 325°.Recipe categories: Low sodium, Meat, Beef.
