Skillet spanish rice
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- chili powder - 1 Tbsp
- can tomatoes, cut up - 1 item
- hamburger meat - 1 lb
- chili sauce - 2/3 c
- black pepper - 1 tsp
- clove garlic, chopped - 1 item
- chopped bell pepper - 1/4 c
- dash of red pepper - 1 item
- regular rice - 3/4 c
How to make skillet spanish rice:
In skillet, brown rice, onion and garlic in butter. Stir often. Add meat, browning just until meat loses red color. Stir occasionally. Drain; stir in tomatoes and add other ingredients. Bring just to a boil. Stir in green pepper. Cover and simmer 30 minutes. Toss mixture well before serving.Recipe categories: < 30 mins, Main dish, Stove top.
