Shrimp lo mein
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- cornstarch - 2 tsp
- water - 2 Tbsp
- oil - 2 Tbsp
- ginger - 1/2 tsp
- garlic powder - 1/4 tsp
- soy sauce - 3 Tbsp
- can chicken broth - 1 oz
- uncooked fine noodles
- uncooked shrimp, shelled and deveined* - 1 lb
- onion, cut into eight wedges - 1 item
How to make shrimp lo mein:
Heat oil in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add shrimp; cook 2 to 3 minutes. Remove. Add chicken broth and the next 4 ingredients. Bring to boil. Add noodles, onion and frozen vegetables. Return to boil. Reduce heat to low. Cover; simmer 8 to 10 minutes. Stir in shrimp. In small bowl mix cornstarch and water. Gradually stir into mixture in skillet. Cook and stir until sauce thickens.*Also works well with 2 pounds beef, cooked and cubed.
