Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • cornstarch - 2 tsp
  • water - 2 Tbsp
  • oil - 2 Tbsp
  • ginger - 1/2 tsp
  • garlic powder - 1/4 tsp
  • soy sauce - 3 Tbsp
  • can chicken broth - 1 oz
  • uncooked fine noodles
  • uncooked shrimp, shelled and deveined* - 1 lb
  • onion, cut into eight wedges - 1 item

How to make shrimp lo mein:

Heat oil in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add shrimp; cook 2 to 3 minutes. Remove. Add chicken broth and the next 4 ingredients. Bring to boil. Add noodles, onion and frozen vegetables. Return to boil. Reduce heat to low. Cover; simmer 8 to 10 minutes. Stir in shrimp. In small bowl mix cornstarch and water. Gradually stir into mixture in skillet. Cook and stir until sauce thickens.

*Also works well with 2 pounds beef, cooked and cubed.
