Shrimp jambalaya



  • water - 2 c
  • oil - 1/4 c
  • Worcestershire sauce - 2 tsp
  • can tomato sauce - 1 oz
  • salt to taste - 1 item
  • finely chopped onion - 1 c
  • finely chopped parsley - 1/4 c
  • chopped bell pepper - 2 Tbsp
  • raw rice - 1 c
  • chopped garlic - 2 tsp
  • hot sauce to taste - 1 item
  • finely chopped green onions - 1/4 c
  • raw shrimp, peeled and deveined - 1 lb

How to make shrimp jambalaya:

In medium saucepan, heat oil over medium heat and saute onion, green onions, parsley and bell pepper until the onions are clear. Stir in tomato sauce and garlic and continue cooking until the tomato sauce starts to boil. Stir in rice and mix well, then add the water, Worcestershire sauce, salt, hot sauce and shrimp. Continue cooking on medium heat, stirring occasionally to prevent rice from sticking. After the water has disappeared from the top, reduce the heat to low, cover tightly and let steam undisturbed for at least 45 minutes. Stir well before serving. Makes 4 servings.
