  • pkg - 1 oz
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 1 Tbsp
  • vinegar - 1 Tbsp
  • garlic powder - 1/4 tsp
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1/4 c
  • chopped onion - 1/4 c
  • chili powder - 2 tsp
  • chopped green pepper - 1/4 c
  • hot cooked rice - 2 c
  • melted butter or margarine - 1/4 c
  • red pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • peeled, chopped tomatoes - 2 c
  • unpeeled fresh shrimp

How to make shrimp jambalaya:

Peel and devein shrimp. Saute onion and green pepper in butter until tender. Combine flour and dry seasonings; blend into onion mixture. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and vinegar until smooth. Add tomatoes and okra, stirring constantly, until thickened. Add shrimp and simmer, uncovered, 15 minutes. Stir in rice. Serves 6.
