Shrimp gumbo
Ingredients/Components
- shrimp - 2 lb
- slices diced bacon - 8 item
- large onions - 2 item
- or 3 cloves garlic - 2 item
- chopped celery
- bell pepper - 1 item
- pods okra - 8 item
- can Italian tomato paste - 1 item
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- rice - 1 c
- Worcestershire sauce - 3 Tbsp
- lemon juice - 3 Tbsp
- catsup - 1/2 c
- bay leaves - 2 item
- a few drops hot sauce - 1 item
- flour thickening - 2 Tbsp
How to make shrimp gumbo:
Fry diced bacon until crisp; remove from pot. Drain off fat. Add onions and celery to remaining grease; fry until golden brown. Add tomatoes, catsup, garlic, bell pepper, okra, sauces and bay leaves. Bring to a boil. Add 1 pint boiling water; let cookRecipe categories: Main dish, Gumbo, Stew.
