Shrimp creole
Ingredients/Components
- salt
- flour - 1/4 c
- shortening - 1/3 c
- hot water - 1 c
- chopped green pepper - 1/4 c
- chopped green onions - 1/2 c
- tomato sauce - 1 can
- chopped parsley - 1/4 c
- cloves garlic, chopped - 4 item
- dash of cayenne pepper - 1 item
- whole bay leaves - 2 item
- lemon slice - 1 item
- raw shrimp, peeled and deveined - 1 lb
- crushed thyme - 1/2 tsp
- Rice Pilaf - 1 item
How to make shrimp creole:
Cut large shrimp in half. Melt shortening; blend in flour and brown, stirring constantly. Add water gradually and cook until thick, stirring constantly. Add shrimp and remaining ingredients, except rice. Cover and simmer 20 minutes. Remove bay leaves. Serve over Rice Pilaf.Recipe categories: Seafood, Shellfish, Shrimp.
