Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • water - 1 c
  • cooking oil - 1/2 c
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • bay leaf - 1 item
  • peppercorns - 4 item
  • dried parsley flakes - 1 tsp
  • diced celery
  • thyme - 1/2 tsp
  • shrimp - 2 lb
  • medium onions, chopped - 2 item
  • green peppers
  • or 2 cloves garlic - 1 item
  • cans tomatoes, diced - 2 oz

How to make shrimp creole:

Cook shrimp in 1-quart water with 4 peppercorns for 3 minutes. Saute green peppers, celery, onions and garlic in cooking oil; add other ingredients (except shrimp) and simmer at least 30 minutes. Add shrimp and simmer another 10 minutes. Serve over rice.
