Shrimp creole
Ingredients/Components
- flour - 4 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- hot sauce - 1 tsp
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- celery, chopped - 1/2 c
- clove garlic, chopped - 1 item
- bell pepper, chopped - 1/4 c
- shortening or oil - 5 Tbsp
- to 8 green onions, chopped - 6 item
- raw shrimp, peeled and deveined - 3 4
How to make shrimp creole:
Make Roux from flour and shortening. Add flour and shortening in iron skillet and cook on medium heat until brick brown (stirring occasionally).In larger heavy pot, add all ingredients, except shrimp, season to taste. Simmer for 30 minutes; bring to boiling point and add shrimp. Cook 15 to 20 minutes. Serve over cooked rice. Serves 4 to 6 people.
