Shrimp and rice
Ingredients/Components
- boiling water - 2 c
- stick butter - 3/4 item
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- parsley - 2 Tbsp
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- celery, chopped - 1/2 c
- uncooked rice - 1 c
- cleaned and deveined shrimp - 1 lb
How to make shrimp and rice:
In a large skillet, melt 1/4 stick butter, onion and celery. Cook until tender (do not brown). Add shrimp and parsley. Cook for 10 minutes over medium heat. Add rice and boiling water. Cook for 1 hour over low heat until rice is tender. Before serving, add 1/2 stick melted butter on top of rice.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Shellfish, Shrimp.
