Shrimp and beef jambalaya
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 lb
- vegetable oil - 3 Tbsp
- paprika - 1/4 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1/2 tsp
- chopped onion - 1 c
- chili powder - 1/2 tsp
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- can stewed tomatoes - 1 oz
- salt to taste - 1 item
- lean ground beef - 1 lb
- cooked rice - 2 c
- clove garlic, crushed - 1 item
- large green peppers, chopped - 2 item
- few drops of Tabasco sauce - 1 item
How to make shrimp and beef jambalaya:
Heat oil in heavy skillet or Dutch oven; saute green peppers, onions and garlic in oil until soft, but not browned. Add ground beef and cook until brown. Drain off excess fat. Add remaining ingredients, except shrimp and rice. Cover; heat to boiling. Simmer on low for 20 minutes. Add shrimp and rice; simmer until thoroughly heated.To drain beef, a colander works well. Can also use freshly boiled shrimp.
