Ingredients/Components
- cornstarch
- water - 2 Tbsp
- honey - 2 Tbsp
- minced garlic - 1 Tbsp
- sesame oil - 1 tsp
- garlic, minced - 1 Tbsp
- light soy sauce - 1 Tbsp
- chicken breasts, cut into strips - 1/2 lb
- carrot, celery and scallion, cut into matchstick size - 1 item
- Chinese wine or sherry - 1 Tbsp
How to make shredded chicken with garlic sauce:
Marinade:1 Tbsp. cornstarch1 Tbsp. Chinese wine or sherry1 Tbsp. minced garlic1 tsp. sesame oil1 Tbsp. light soy sauce Marinate chicken in marinade for 1/2 hour. Combine honey, soy sauce, water and minced garlic.Heat 3 tablespoons peanut oil in wok. Stir-fry chicken for 3 to 4 minutes (discard marinade sauce). Remove chicken to bowl. Stir-fry carrots and celery for 3 minutes; add chicken and sauce. Stir-fry for 2 minutes; add scallions. Serve with steamed rice. Makes 2 servings.
