Ingredients/Components
- flour - 2 c
- brown sugar
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- shortening - 4 Tbsp
- hot water - 1/2 c
- beaten eggs - 2 item
- unbaked pie shells - 2 item
- regular King syrup - 2 c
- hot water from sink
How to make shoo-fly pie:
Mix flour, sugar and shortening like pie dough crumbs. Take out 2 cups of crumbs for top of pies. To remainder of crumbs in bowl, add eggs, molasses and water. Dissolve soda in 1/2 cup of hot water and add to other liquid mixture. Divide liquid in unbaked pie shells. Put crumbs on top and bake 10 minutes at 400°. Reduce to 375° and bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Makes 2 pies.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
