Ingredients/Components
- flour - 4 c
- brown sugar - 2 c
- soda - 1 Tbsp
- boiling water - 2 c
- shortening - 3/4 c
- molasses - 1 c
How to make shoo-fly cake:
Take flour, shortening and brown sugar. Mix thoroughly. Take out 1 cup crumbs and keep for top; to the rest of the crumbs add boiling water, molasses and soda. Mix well, then pour into a greased 9 x 9 or 9 x 13-inch cake pan. Sprinkle remaining crumbs on top and bake at 350° until done.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Low protein.
