Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- flour - 4 c
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- hot water - 2 c
- baking molasses green label - 1 c
How to make shoo-fly cake:
Mix flour, sugar and shortening. Do not use beaters. Mix like pie crumbs in a large bowl. Save 1 cup of crumbs for top of cake. In another bowl, mix molasses, hot water and baking soda. Add to crumbs. Stir and put into a large greased and floured pan. Top with 1 cup of reserved crumbs. Bake at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Low protein.
