  • milk - 1 c
  • large eggs - 2 item
  • chopped ham - 2 c
  • bread crumbs - 1 item
  • salt and pepper - 2 tsp
  • grated Cheddar cheese - 2 c
  • can mushroom soup - 1 item
  • sliced, cooked potatoes - 4 c

How to make shipwreck casserole:

Layer 1/2 potatoes, 1/2 ham and 1/2 the cheese in a buttered shallow 2 quart casserole dish. Repeat layers of potatoes, ham and cheese. Set aside.

In a bowl, lightly beat eggs; stir in milk, salt, pepper and mushroom soup. Pour mixture over layers. Sprinkle with bread crumbs.

Bake in preheated oven at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes or when knife inserted near the middle comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes, then serve. Yields 8 servings.
