Shell salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- water - 1/3 c
- Miracle Whip - 2 c
- uncooked pasta twists or shells or nuggets - 4 c
- frozen peas, thawed and lightly cooked - 3/4 c
- small onion, diced fine sweet onion - 1/2 item
- cans water packed tuna, drained - 2 1/2
How to make shell salad:
Boil sugar and water for 1 minute. Cool; blend into Miracle Whip. Cook shells until tender. Rinse well with cold water. Put shells, peas, onion and tuna in bowl. Toss lightly. Pour dressing over and mix well. Serve in 3 hours or can let set overnight. (This gives dressing time to absorb into pasta.)In place of tuna, omit tuna, peas, onion. Use 1 1/2 cups cubed, boiled ham or any ham, 3/4 to 1 cup cubed mild Cheddar or Colby cheese, 1/2 cup shredded carrots and 3/4 to 1 cup small broccoli flowerets.
Garnish with cherry tomatoes.
