Seafood gumbo
Ingredients/Components
- flour - 6 Tbsp
- butter - 1/2 c
- water - 3 qt
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- chopped green pepper - 1/4 c
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- parsley, chopped - 1/4 c
- cloves garlic, chopped - 6 item
- bay leaves - 3 item
- thyme - 1/2 tsp
- diced onions - 1/2 c
- peeled raw shrimp - 2 lb
- frozen sliced okra - 1 pkg
- oysters with juice - 1 pt
- crabmeat or lobster - 1 lb
How to make seafood gumbo:
Make a roux with flour and butter. Add garlic, onion, green pepper and celery. Cook covered until transparent. Add water, tomato sauce and okra. Simmer until done. Add seasonings, lobster, shrimp and oysters. Simmer 30 minutes and serve.Recipe categories: One Dish meal, Gumbo, Stew.
