Seafood chowder
Ingredients/Components
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- chopped carrots - 1/2 c
- butter or margarine - 4 Tbsp
- flour - 1/2 c
- chicken broth - 1 c
- milk - 4 c
- slices American cheese - 5 item
- small can salad shrimp - 1 item
- small can minced clams - 1 item
- crabmeat - 1 lb
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- Old Bay or crab seasoning - 1 tsp
How to make seafood chowder:
Saut?© finely chopped vegetables in butter until tender. Blend in flour. Add chicken broth and stir until smooth. Add milk; simmer but do not boil. Add cheese and stir until melted. Add seafood and seasonings. This soup may be made and kept on low setting in crock-pot for several hours; stir occasionally. Serves 8.Recipe categories: Soups & stews, Main dish, Chowders.
