Seafood au gratin



  • butter - 1/2 lb
  • chopped celery - 1 c
  • chopped onions - 1 c
  • white wine - 1/2 c
  • chopped pimento - 1 Tbsp
  • salt and cayenne pepper to taste - 1 item
  • shrimp - 1 c
  • crab - 1 c
  • grated American cheese - 1 c
  • chopped peppers - 1/2 c
  • hot half and half cream - 4 c

How to make seafood au gratin:

In a heavy pot, melt butter over medium heat. Saute all seasonings until soft (about 5 minutes). Add flour; blend well. Add hot cream. When mixture thickens, add wine. Salt and pepper to taste. Place crab meat and shrimp in a casserole dish; top with the sauce, which should be creamy. Sprinkle with American cheese. Bake at 375° until bubbly.
