Seafood au gratin
Ingredients/Components
- butter - 1/2 lb
- chopped celery - 1 c
- chopped onions - 1 c
- white wine - 1/2 c
- chopped pimento - 1 Tbsp
- salt and cayenne pepper to taste - 1 item
- shrimp - 1 c
- crab - 1 c
- grated American cheese - 1 c
- chopped peppers - 1/2 c
- hot half and half cream - 4 c
How to make seafood au gratin:
In a heavy pot, melt butter over medium heat. Saute all seasonings until soft (about 5 minutes). Add flour; blend well. Add hot cream. When mixture thickens, add wine. Salt and pepper to taste. Place crab meat and shrimp in a casserole dish; top with the sauce, which should be creamy. Sprinkle with American cheese.
