Seafoam candy
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- baking soda - 1 Tbsp
- shortening - 2 Tbsp
- dark Karo syrup - 1 c
- 24 oz - 2 pkg
How to make seafoam candy:
In a heavy saucepan combine sugar, syrup and vinegar. Bring to the boil over high heat. Reduce to low heat and cook slowly until temperature reaches 300°. Remove from heat. Add baking soda while stirring. Pour into a greased 8 x 8-inch pan. Cool. Break into small pieces. Melt chocolate chips with shortening.
