Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 2 Chronicles
- milk
- salt - 2 Kings
- chopped nuts
- butter
- baking powder
- sifted flour
- soft butter
- raisins - 2 Samuel
- honey
- allspice - 1 tsp
- Beat until light
- Isaiah 10:14 5 eggs, separated
- finely cut up dates or figs
- Genesis 43:11 1/2 blanched almonds
How to make scripture cake:
Cream butter and sugar good. Beat until light. Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating after each one. Add honey. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk. Beat only until smooth. Stir in nuts and fruit. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour into a loaf pan (9 x 5 x 3-inch) lined with wax paper. Bake in preheated oven at 350° for 1 hour or until done. Cool cake 5 minutes, then peel off wax paper and cool right side up.
