Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cinnamon - 1/4 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- flour - 2 c
- water - 1 c
- coconut - 1/2 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 4 Tbsp
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- stick oleo - 1 item
- sweet milk
- Crisco or butter - 1/2 c
How to make scotch chocolate cake:
Frosting:6 Tbsp. sweet milk4 Tbsp. cocoa1 stick oleo1 box powdered sugar1/2 c. coconut1/2 c. chopped nuts1 tsp. vanilla Cake: Put dry ingredients in large mixing bowl; stir. In a saucepan, put the water, Crisco or butter and the cocoa. Bring to a bubbling boil; mix into flour mixture while still hot and stir like cornbread. Add the buttermilk, eggs and vanilla. Stir like cornbread. Pour into a sheath pan. Bake cake at 350° until done.Frosting: Bring to a boil the milk, cocoa and oleo. Add sugar; stir well. Add coconut, nuts and vanilla; mix well and spread on cake.
