  • sugar - 2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • water - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • cocoa - 4 Tbsp
  • buttermilk - 1/2 c
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • nuts - 1 c
  • sticks oleo - 2 item
  • box powdered sugar - 1 item
  • sweet milk - 7 Tbsp
  • can Angel Flake coconut - 1 item
  • In a saucepan put oleo, water and cocoa; bring to a boil

How to make scotch chocolate cake:

Into large mixing bowl, put 2 cups sugar and 2 cups flour. In a saucepan put oleo, water and cocoa; bring to a boil. Pour over dry ingredients and mix well. Add eggs and buttermilk to which soda has been added. Add vanilla and mix well. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes in large pan (cookie sheet size). Ice while cake is still hot.Icing:1 stick oleo4 Tbsp. cocoa7 Tbsp. sweet milk1 box powdered sugar1 can Angel Flake coconut1 c. nuts1 tsp. vanilla In saucepan put oleo, cocoa and milk; bring to a vigorous boil. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar. Beat by hand until smooth, then add coconut, nuts and vanilla. Canned milk may be added to make icing easier to spread.
