- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- milk - 6 Tbsp
- stick margarine - 1 item
- water - 1 c
- coconut - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- all-purpose flour - 2 c
- vegetable shortening - 1/2 c
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- Icing:1 stick margarine
How to make scotch chocolate cake:
Icing:1 stick margarine4 Tbsp. cocoa6 Tbsp. milk1 box powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla1 c. chopped pecans1 c. coconut Combine flour and sugar in mixing bowl, mixing well. In a saucepan, put margarine, shortening, cocoa and water. Bring to a boil, then pour over flour and sugar mixture, mixing gradually. Put soda in buttermilk and add with other ingredients. Mix and turn into a greased and floured pan, about 11 x 16-inches. Bake in a 400° oven for 30 minutes or until done. Make icing 5 minutes before cake is done and pour hot icing over hot cake.Icing: In a saucepan, combine margarine, cocoa and milk. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly to prevent sticking. Remove from heat and add other ingredients. Spread on hot cake.
