Ingredients/Components
- self-rising flour
- superfine sugar - 4 Tbsp
- raisins - 1/4 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- butter - 3 4
- milk - 2/3 c
How to make scones:
Preheat oven to 425°. Lightly grease large baking sheet. Sift flour and salt. Rub in butter until mixture looks like bread crumbs. Then add sugar and raisins. Mix to a soft dough with milk. Roll out dough on lightly floured board to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut into 1 1/2-inch rounds. Put on baking sheet. Brush with milk. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Serve with jam and tea.
