Ingredients/Components

  • milk
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 2 Tbsp
  • margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • small onion, chopped - 1 item
  • diced ham - 1 c
  • Cheddar cheese - 2/3 c
  • sliced, peeled potatoes - 4 c

How to make scalloped potatoes with ham:

In saucepan, melt butter. Add onion and cook until tender. Stir in flour, salt and pepper until well mixed. Gradually stir in milk. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. Remove from heat.

Heat oven to 350°. Grease a 1 1/2-quart dish. Layer half the potatoes, half the ham and half the cheese. Pour half the sauce over top. Repeat layers with other half of ingredients. Bake 1 1/4 hours or until potatoes are tender.
