  • milk - 2 c
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • flour - 2 Tbsp
  • butter - 3 Tbsp
  • sliced potatoes - 10 c

How to make scalloped potatoes:

Melt 2 tablespoons butter in saucepan; stir in flour and salt. Add milk, stirring constantly, until sauce boils and thickens. Add potatoes and heat, stirring, until it boils again. Turn potatoes into a shallow greased casserole. Spread 1 tablespoon melted butter over top. Place on a rack above the middle of the oven and bake at 350° for 45 minutes.

Onions or ham may be added.
