Ingredients/Components

  • butter - 1/4 lb
  • whipping cream - 1 c
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • cream of chicken soup - 2 c
  • small cans sliced mushrooms - 2 item
  • potatoes, thinly sliced 7 or 8
  • small green onions and tops, chopped fine - 10 item

How to make scalloped potatoes:

Cook onions and mushrooms in butter until light brown; add soup. Remove from flame and add whipping cream and pepper. Stir until smooth.

Grease large dish with butter. Slice one layer of very thin potatoes and cover with part of sauce. Repeat layers, ending with sauce on top. Bake at 350° for 1 1/2 hours or until tender. Can be prepared ahead of time, then baked.
