Scalloped potatoes
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- stick butter - 1 item
- garlic powder - 1 tsp
- sliced onions - 1/2 c
- slices cheese - 4 item
- or 5 thinly sliced potatoes - 4 item
How to make scalloped potatoes:
Wash and dry potatoes (works just as well for sweet potatoes). Coat each potato with Crisco oil.For white potatoes: Roll potatoes in mixture of cracked pepper and salt.
For sweet potatoes: Roll potatoes in mixture of brown sugar and salt.
Place potatoes in crock-pot. (Do not wrap potatoes in foil!) Set temperature to medium. Cooking time will vary according to size and quantity of potatoes. I put 4 potatoes in for about 2 1/2 hours.
This works great for me on Sundays. I put them on before Sunday School and we have great tasting potatoes for Sunday lunch without heating up the house.
