Scalloped potato casserole
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- water - 4 c
- grated onion - 1 Tbsp
- grated sharp cheese - 2 Tbsp
- can cream of celery, chicken or mushroom soup - 1 1/2
- packaged potatoes, sliced - 2 c
How to make scalloped potato casserole:
Add potatoes to water and salt in saucepan; mix. Cover and bring to boil. Reduce heat and boil until tender, 15 to 20 minutes.Meanwhile, combine soup, milk and onion in saucepan. Heat, stirring occasionally. Place about 1/3 of cooked potatoes in greased 1-quart casserole. Add half of soup mixture. Add half of remaining potatoes and soup; then add all of remaining potatoes and soup. Sprinkle with cheese and bake in 375° oven about 1 hour. Yields 6 servings.
