Scalloped oysters



  • margarine or butter - 1/2 c
  • coarsely crushed saltine crackers - 2 3
  • pepper, as desired - 1 item
  • Maryland oysters, with liquid - 1 qt

How to make scalloped oysters:

In a greased 2-quart casserole, place alternating layers of oysters with liquid and crackers, dotting each layer with butter and sprinkling with pepper. Add milk until liquid almost reaches top of casserole. Dot with remaining margarine or butter. Bake at 350° until browned, 45 to 60 minutes. Makes 6 generous servings.
