  • box each: lemon and orange Jell-O - 1 item
  • water
  • cold water
  • can crushed pineapple, drained save juice - 1 item
  • miniature marshmallows - 1 item
  • Add cold water
  • flour - 2 tsp
  • pineapple juice - 1 c
  • egg, beaten until frothy - 1 item
  • Add beaten egg
  • cream cheese
  • Blend in cream cheese, then spread this over your second layer

How to make sawdust salad:

Dissolve lemon and orange Jell-O with hot water. Add cold water. Drain pineapple and add to the Jell-O. Stir in enough miniature marshmallows to cover the top of the Jell-O. Let this set in the refrigerator until firm.Second Layer:1 c. sugar or 1 tsp. artificial sweetener2 tsp. flour1 c. pineapple juice1 egg, beaten until frothy Combine the sugar or sweetener, flour and pineapple juice that you saved. Add beaten egg. Cook all this over low heat until thick. Let cool slightly and pour this over the first layer.Third Layer:1/2 pt. whipping cream or 1 pkg. Dream Whip1 small pkg. cream cheese Whip whipping cream or Dream Whip. Blend in cream cheese, then spread this over your second layer.Fourth Layer: finely grated Cheddar cheese Top salad with Cheddar cheese (1 small package is enough), then chill about 1 hour. Serve as a salad or a dessert.
