  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • flour - 2 Tbsp
  • cold water
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • boiling water - 2 c
  • can crushed pineapple - 1 oz
  • whipping cream - 1 c
  • miniature marshmallows - 2 c
  • shredded Cheddar cheese - 2 c
  • cream cheese, softened - 8 oz
  • or 3 bananas - 2 item

How to make sawdust salad:

Dissolve orange and lemon jello in boiling water in bowl. Add cold water; mix well. Chill until partially set. Drain pineapple, reserving 1 cup juice. Add pineapple and bananas to gelatin; mix well. Pour into 9 x 13-inch glass dish. Sprinkle with marshmallows. Chill until set.

Combine reserved pineapple juice, eggs, sugar, vanilla and flour in saucepan. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Cool. Spread over marshmallow layer. Beat whipping cream and cream cheese in bowl until thick and creamy. Spread over salad. Top with Cheddar cheese. Chill overnight.
