Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
  • water - 1/4 c
  • oil - 1 Tbsp
  • black pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • medium onion, chopped - 1 item
  • bottled barbecue sauce - 1/2 c
  • medium green pepper, slivered - 1 item
  • boneless pork, cut into 1-inch pieces - 1 lb
  • can apricot halves in heavy syrup - 1 oz
  • can pineapple pieces, drained optional - 1 item

How to make savory pork:

Saute meat in oil in a 10-inch skillet for 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Add onion. Saute 2 to 3 more minutes. Drain apricots. Add syrup and barbecue sauce to pork. Add salt and black pepper. Bring to boil. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes or until meat is tender. Add green pepper. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Blend cornstarch and water. Stir in mixture. Cook, stirring, until thickened. Add apricots and pineapple; heat gently. Serve over rice or parsley noodles.
