Savory cheese soup
Ingredients/Components
- chopped onion - 1/4 c
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- flour - 1/4 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- garlic salt - 1/8 tsp
- milk - 2 c
- chicken broth 14 1/2 oz - 1 c
- carrots - 1/2 c
- celery - 1/2 c
- Cheddar cheese
- Mozzarella, shredded - 3/4 c
How to make savory cheese soup:
In large pan, saute onion in butter until tender. Add flour, salt, pepper and garlic salt; stir until smooth. Gradually add milk. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly.Meanwhile, bring broth to a boil in small saucepan. Add carrots and celery. Simmer 5 minutes or until tender. Add to milk. Mix and stir. Add cheeses. Cook until melted (do not boil).
