Savory cheese soup
Ingredients/Components
- chopped onion - 1/4 c
- all-purpose flour - 1/4 c
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- milk - 2 c
- finely chopped celery - 1/2 c
- 6 oz
- shredded Mozzarella cheese - 3/4 c
- butter or margarine - 3 Tbsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- garlic powder - 1/8 tsp
- can chicken broth - 1 1/2
- shredded carrots - 1/2 c
How to make savory cheese soup:
In a large saucepan, saut?© onion in butter until tender. Add flour, salt, pepper and garlic powder; stir until smooth. Gradually add milk; cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly. Meanwhile, bring chicken broth to a boil in a small saucepan. Add carrots and celery; simmer for 5 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Add to milk mixture and stir until blended. Add cheeses.
