Sausage strata
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 3/4 c
- eggs, beaten - 3 item
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- sausage - 1 lb
- shredded cheese Cheddar - 1 c
- can Cheddar cheese soup* - 1 item
- slices bread or leftover buns - 4 item
How to make sausage strata:
Grease 9 x 13-inch pan. Brown sausage; drain well. Brown onions. Warm up soup. Combine with milk and eggs. Tear bread in small chunks to cover pan well. Alternate with bread, cheese and sausage. Pour combined liquid over. Can be made ahead. Great for brunch. Bake in 325° oven 45 minutes. Check doneness with toothpick.*You can use cream of chicken soup if you want a different taste.
