Sausage strata
Ingredients/Components
- pork sausage - 2 lb
- chopped red and green peppers - 1/4 c
- mustard yellow - 2 tsp
- slices white bread, crusts removed - 12 item
- Swiss cheese, grated - 1 lb
- large eggs - 6 item
- milk - 4 c
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- nutmeg - 1/8 tsp
- salt - 1/8 tsp
How to make sausage strata:
Day Before: Grease a 13 x 9-inch pan. Saute sausage and peppers. Drain fat. Stir in mustard. Arrange bread in pan. Top with sausage, then cheese. Lightly beat eggs in bowl. Beat in milk, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, nutmeg and salt. Pour over layers. Cover and refrigerate overnight.Next day, heat oven to 350°. Bake 40 to 50 minutes.
