  • sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • milk - 1/3 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • shortening - 1/3 c
  • plain flour - 2 c
  • bulk lean sausage - 3/4 lb

How to make sausage rolls:

Combine dry ingredients. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk, then roll dough jelly roll fashion with sausage layer in the middle. Cut in 1/2-inch slices and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400° for 20 to 25 minutes.
