Sausage rice casserole
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- boiling water
- margarine - 1/4 c
- chopped onion - 3/4 c
- chopped green pepper - 1 c
- slivered almonds - 1/4 c
- sliced celery
- raw rice - 1 c
- hot sausage - 1 lb
- mild sausage - 1 lb
- Lipton Chicken Noodle soup mix - 2 pkg
How to make sausage rice casserole:
Crumble sausage and brown; drain grease and add vegetables. Cook until tender. Add almonds, saving some for garnish. In another pan, combine soup, water and rice. Simmer for 20 minutes. Add salt and margarine; stir well. Combine all in a greased 3-qt. dish. Sprinkle reserved almonds on top and bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 1 hour.Recipe categories: Main dish, Casseroles, Pork.
