Sauerkraut soup
Ingredients/Components
- cans chicken broth - 3 1/2
- can tomato paste - 1 oz
- can sauerkraut, rinsed and drained - 1 oz
- medium potatoes, peeled and cubed - 5 item
- medium onions, chopped - 2 item
- smoked Polish sausage, cut into 1/2-inch pieces - 1 lb
- carrots, cut in 1/4-inch slices - 2 item
How to make sauerkraut soup:
In saucepan, combine potatoes, onions, carrots and chicken broth; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Add sauerkraut and tomato paste; mix well. Return to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 30 minutes.If a thinner soup is desired, add water or more chicken broth. Yield: 8 to 10 servings.
