Sauerkraut salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vinegar - 2/3 c
- celery, chopped - 1 c
- onion, chopped fine - 1 c
- green pepper, chopped fine - 1 c
- large can sauerkraut, drained - 1 item
- jar pimento, chopped optional - 1 oz
How to make sauerkraut salad:
Combine sugar and vinegar in saucepan and bring to a full boil over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Mix remaining ingredients in a large, glass dish. Pour vinegar mixture over sauerkraut mixture. Let stand 24 hours in refrigerator. This will keep for 3 to 4 weeks in refrigerator. Very good with pork dishes or as a relish on hot dogs or hamburgers.Recipe categories: < 15 mins, Salads, 3 steps or less.
