- sugar - 5 c
- salt - 1/2 c
- flour - 1 c
- vinegar - 2 pt
- prepared mustard - 1 pt
- carrots - 10 item
- stalks celery - 10 item
- green peppers - 6 item
- turmeric - 1 Tbsp
- onions - 6 item
- red peppers - 6 item
- green tomatoes - 6 item
- a little salt - 1 item
- large pickles - 6 item
How to make sandwich spread:
Grind the first 7 ingredients. Add 1/2 cup salt and a little salt. Let stand 2 hours. Drain. Add the vinegar; cook for 20 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients; mix. Cook well, stirring continually.
