Cool until comfortable to handle, 10 to 15 minutes. Butter hands lightly; gather small amounts of taffy into a ball and pull until candy becomes opaque and holds its shape. Pull each piece into a long strand about 1/2-inch thick. With buttered kitchen shears, snip into bite size pieces. Wrap in waxed paper or plastic wrap. Makes 1 1/4 pounds.
