Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- salt - 2 tsp
- brown sugar - 1/4 c
- vinegar - 1 c
- chopped onion - 2 c
- chopped celery - 3 c
- chopped green pepper - 1 c
- black pepper
- mixed pickle spice
- peeled, chopped tomatoes - 12 c
How to make salsa:
Place vegetables in a large kettle and add rest of the ingredients. Put mixed pickle spices in a cheesecloth bag before adding. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30 to 45 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Ladle into jars and seal. Process in boiling water bath for 10 minutes.My Comments: I usually add some hot peppers and you may thicken with Perma Flo, if desired.
