Ingredients/Components

  • eggs - 2 item
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • butter - 1/4 c
  • cornstarch - 2 tsp
  • water
  • dry mustard - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped fresh parsley - 2 tsp
  • shredded Cheddar cheese - 1 c
  • finely chopped onion - 2 tsp
  • dill weed - 1 tsp
  • instant chicken bouillon - 1 tsp
  • finely crushed dried crumbly style herb seasoned stuffing - 3/4 c
  • cubed ripe tomatoes - 2 c
  • crushed dried crumbly herb seasoned stuffing
  • can red salmon, drained, flaked, bones removed - 16 oz

How to make salmon pie:

Sauce:1/3 c. butter2 tsp. cornstarch1 1/3 c. water1 tsp. dill weed1/2 tsp. salt2 c. cubed ripe tomatoes Filling:2 c. crushed dried crumbly herb seasoned stuffing1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese1 c. water1/2 c. milk16 oz. can red salmon, drained, flaked, bones removed2 eggs1 tsp. instant chicken bouillon1/2 tsp. dry mustard2 tsp. chopped fresh parsley2 tsp. finely chopped onion Heat oven to 350°. In 3-quart saucepan, melt 1/4 cup butter. Stir in 3/4 cup stuffing. Press stuffing mixture on bottom and up sides of greased 9-inch pie pan and set aside. In same saucepan, stir in all filling ingredients. Spoon into crust. Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until heated thoroughly.

Let stand for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, in 2-quart saucepan, melt 1/3 cup butter. Stir in cornstarch. Stir in remaining sauce ingredients except tomatoes. Cook on medium heat until mixture comes to a full boil. Add tomatoes. Boil 1 minute. To serve, cut pie into 6 wedges. Serve sauce over wedges.

Three cans tuna, drained, can be substituted for salmon.
