Ingredients/Components

  • egg - 1 item
  • can French onion soup undiluted - 1 1/2
  • bread crumbs - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • pinch of pepper - 1 item
  • ground beef
  • all-purpose flour - 1 Tbsp
  • water - 1/4 c
  • ketchup - 1/4 c
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
  • prepared mustard - 1/2 tsp
  • hot cooked egg noodles - 6 c
  • chopped parsley - 1 item

How to make salisbury steak and onion gravy:

In a large bowl, beat egg. Stir in 1/3 cup of soup, bread crumbs, salt and pepper. Add beef; mix gently. Shape into 6 oval patties. Brown in a skillet over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes on each side. Remove and set aside; discard drippings. In the skillet, combine flour and water until smooth; add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and remaining soup. Bring to a boil. Return patties to skillet. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until meat is no longer pink. Serve patties and gravy over noodles.
