Ingredients/Components

  • grated cheese - 1 c
  • mayonnaise - 1 item
  • can LeSueur English peas, drained - 1 item
  • lettuce, chopped - 2 c
  • celery, sliced thin - 1 c
  • can water chestnuts, drained and thinly sliced - 1 item
  • green pepper, sliced thin - 1 c
  • onion, sliced thinly - 1 c

How to make salad:

Layer in bowl as listed. Spread with layer of mayonnaise approximately 1/3-inch thick. Sprinkle with approximately 1 1/2 tablespoons of sugar. Cover with 1/2 to 1 c. grated cheese. Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight.
